7^th period  (Room 339): 

Please hand out a copy of these directions to each student.

Students should get out their Nakama textbooks and turn to pages 262, 263, and 264. 

They will be working on Chapter 8, Exercises D and E, and they will need to look carefully at the department store diagram at the top of page 263.  Following the example on page 262, students should answer questions  1-6 on page 263, writing complete Japanese sentences.  The exercise involves deciding which products are on which floors of the department store. 

For example:   

On which floor is the jewelry.  Jewelry is on the 1^st floor.

  ほうせき　は　何　かい　に　あります　か。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

                               いっかい　に　あります。

Then students should recreate the chart at the top of page 264 and write in each space which departments (uriba  うりば) are on which floors.  *Students are to work QUIETLY,  but they may occasionally ask each other questions about points they don’t understand.

8^th period (Room 386):  

Yoko Schmadeke Sensei will take this class.  “ Please distribute the story to each member of the class.  Each student, on a separate piece of paper, should write answers to the questions at the end of the story in completeJAPANESE sentences and then hand their answers in to you.  It should take some time to read the story.  After they have handed in their answers, they may work quietly on anything they wish.
