Examples:

Nakama Chapter 11 Tanuki Story

先週の週まつ、私は狸（たぬきJapanese raccoon dog）に会った。

たぬき　は　私　と　話した。

私　は　びっくり　した。

たぬき　は　日本語　が　上手（じょうず）だった　と　思った。

ふゆ休みに、たぬき　は　フロリダ州（しゅうstate）に行ったそうだ。

わかい　時、ローラーコースター　に　のった　こと　が　なかった　と　言った。

でも　始めて　(for the first time) ディズニーワルド　に　行って、ローラーコースター　に　のったり　だんご　を　食べたり　した　そう　だ。

ディズニーワルド　で　おさけ　を　飲んで　は　だめ　だ　から　たぬき　は　しんぱい　した　と　言った。　

そして　おさけ　を　やめて、お水　や　お茶　を　飲んだ　そう　だ。

ディズニーワルド　の　後　で　たぬき　は　うみ　に　行った。

およいだり、すな（Sand） の　きょう会　を　作ったり、した。

フロリダ州　だった　から　お天気　が　あたたかった。

After Disney World, the tanuki went to the sea.

およいだり,　すな(sand)　の　きょう会　を　作ったり,　しました。
He did things like swimming and making sand churches.

フロリダ州　だった　から　お天気　が　あたたかった。
It was the state of Florida, so the weather was warm.

大きい魚　に　会ったこと　が　なかった（ありませんでした）。
He didn't have the experience of meeting a large fish.

でも　大きい　わに(alligator/crocodile)　や　かに(crab)　を　見た。
However, he saw a large alligator and a crab.


NOTE:     The plain negative of  あります・ある  is irregular.
