Exercise A from pp 188-189 of Nakama and page 83 from Nakama Workbook (kara "therefore" and ga "but")
Autumn Haiku あき の はいく
First line: 5 syllables
Second line: 7 syllables
Third line: 5 syllables
Each full
size hiragana is a syllable, as is small tsu.
Small ya, yu, and yo are not syllables
Write 3
haiku 日本語 で,
on unlined paper, each one using at least two of the following 日本語 Japanese words
Maple かえで
Ivy つた
Pine まつ
Red あかい
Yellow きいろい
Brown ちゃいろい
Red-maple もみじ
Mountain やま 山
Moon つき 月
Add color
and appropriate decoration and えい語 English
translation. Must be written on unlined paper, on one side only.
Vocabulary on the board, requested by students:

(more polite、more poetic) なくなる
