春分の日 しゅんぶん の ひ Vernal Equinox

Vernal Equinox Day 2023
March 20, 2023 in Japan
Vernal Equinox Day is observed on March 20, 2023. Vernal Equinox Day (Jpn. Shunbun no Hi) is a public holiday in Japan that occurs on the date of the Northward equinox in Japan Standard Time, usually March 20 or 21. The date of the holiday is not officially declared until February of the previous year, due to the need for recent astronomical measurements. Vernal Equinox Day became a public holiday in 1948. Prior to that it was the date of Shunki reitaisai [in mid May] an event relating to Shintoism. Like other Japanese holidays, this holiday was repackaged as a non-religious holiday for the sake of separation of religion and state in Japan's postwar constitution. 東照宮春季例大祭 Reitaisai , also known as Reisai, [in May] is the biggest annual event of Nikko Tosho-gu which is one of Japan’s most iconic historic sites and also known as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nikko Toshoo-gu…was initially built in 1617, during the Edo/Tokugawa Period.  It is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, who unified [all] Japan for the first time in history.  There are two main events for two days, Yabusame, traditional mounted archery in the first day and the Thousand Warriors’ Parade in the last day.  Live broadcasts of events in English is available for both events.    https://youkosonihon.com/2018/01/29/shunki-reitaisai-grand-festival-of-spring-nikko/

I heard/it is said/someone said that Sensei had the experience of climbing Mt. Fuji.

Next year, I think I will do things like meeting friends in Japan,  eating delicious Japanese-cuisine lunches, and  drinking  Japanese green-tea.

At-the-time-when (he was) in high school, (my) father listened to music, and played the guitar, and sang in church.

One month ago (previously), we made Valentine’s Day cards.

What kind of part-time job does Michiko do after lunch?
