Friday, May 16th -- test on Nakama Chapter 10

Monday and Tuesday, May 26th and 27th during class time -- scantron final

Wednesday, May 28th at 10:15 -- oral final

The class reviewed sentence patterns with an eye to understanding why relational particles are used in particular ways.  They reflect the function of the word in a particular sentence.  A word like "Tokyo" can be a subject, or a direct object, or a place where something happens, or a destination.

Examples:
とおきょう は ひろい です。 Tokyo is big/spacious.
ひこうき から とうきょう を 見て 下さい。 Please look at Tokyo from the plane.
友達 は とうきょう で 勉強 します。
みなさん、とうきょう に 行きましょう。

SENTENCE   PATTERNS:

1. T T P O V (active verb)                    2. T T T D V (traveling verb)                                3. / pattern

Time, topic, place, object, verb/active                 time, topic, transport, destination, verb/traveling

4. sentences with existence verbs   [います、あります]
