バレンタイン
きみ に 会えない
一日 を
いつき の みや の
ごとく すごせり

Valentine’s Day
Looks like I won’t see you.
I pass the day like a shrine maiden
Or some kind of priestess.


さいご かも
しれず よこはま
中華街 (ちゅうかがい)
わらった けい の
あげかし を 買う

Aware  it might be
The last time we go and buy
In Yokohama’s
Chinatown, cookies that look
Like faces laughing. 



 
New Grammar Point: traveling in order to do something ---

Destination Direct object purpose (verb stem + ni) traveling verb

レストラン に ピザ を 食べ に いきます。 I will go to the restaurant (in order) to eat pizza.

Verb stem is what's left after you take the masu off.

食べ に、読み に、 飲み に、かり に、 買い に

To eat,   to read,   to drink,   to borrow, to buy

Traveling verbs: 行きます、来ます、帰ります

                                   Goes,          comes ,       returns (home)
 
宿題:Homework
1.New kanji, 20 times each: 番、忙しい、色、々
2。Page 294 in the text, Nakama -- section A
4.Write the following words in 漢字:まえ、うし(ろ)、つく(る)、
はじ(まる)、お(わる)、せんしゅう、がっこう、みぎ、にく、さかな
