The class as a whole went over the　handout from Nakama Workbook (page 121) -- special idioms


人　に　会う（あう）　　　To meet/see a person
おもちゃ　で　あそぶ　　　To play with a toy
犬（いぬ）と　あそぶ　　　To play wit a dog
デパート　に　行く　　　　To go to the department store


Then the class went on to work on the menu in the text, page 289 -- the menu, with lots of difficult words in　カタカナ。
For example:
オードブル　Hors d'oevres
コンソメスープ　Consomme soup
タンシチュー　Tongue (we think) stew
エビマカロニグラタン　　Shrimp macaroni gratin


Upcoming project, with details to follow: each student will design his or her own restaurant, with an extensive menu that includes prices
