You will notice that the verbs
are in a new form, the “dictionary form,” which we’ll talk about. The “dictionary form” is the plain/informal
present, affirmative tense. It’s like
the “infinitive” in えい語。All “dictionary
forms” end in an “u” vowel sound,
just as all neutral-polite present affirmative forms end in “masu.”
