ワームアップ　

えい語で何ですか。　えい語で書いて下さい。What is it in English?  Write it in English, please.

あたらしい　ともだち　を　しょうかい　します（Will introduce）.
       ( I ) will introduce a new friend.

｛お｝なまえ　は　ピング　です。　ピング　は　ペンギン　です。
     The name is Pingu.                                Pingu is a penguin.

じゅうご　さい　です。 (He) is 15 years old.

　　

なんきょく（South Pole） に　すんで　います。
     (He) lives/resides at the South Pole.

こう校　の　にねんせい　です。
      (He) is a 2nd year high school student.

まい日　新聞（しんぶん）を　買います。
     Every day (he) buys a newspaper.

そして　おもしろい　ビデオ　を　見ます。
     And (he) watches an interesting video.

ばんごはん　に　魚（さかな）を　食べます。
     (He) eats fish for dinner.

それから　よる　の　八時に　しゅくだい　を　します。
     After that, he does homework at 8 o'clock at night.



Students asked questions about the vocabulary, and after most of them were finished, we talked through this little story about a penguin named Pingu.  Then some of them were able to repeat part of the story without looking at their papers, and one student, impressively, recited most of it from memory.


There was also a short discussion of this coming summer's exchange trip to Japan.
