A.  言って下さい。 Practice saying what each animal wants (noun　が　ほしがって　います), what the animal wants to do (verb-stem + たがって　います), and what it is able to do (potential verb).

Example:  魚　は　（お）水　が　ほしがって　います。およぎたがって　います。プール の　（お）水　の　中　で　およげます。The fish wants water.  It wants to swim.  It can swim in the water of the pool.

B.  “Should, had-better” –　Telling what one should do, what one had better do.

　　Plain-past affirmative verb ＋　ほう　が　いい　です。

　　たとえば：

　　テストの前に、勉強した　ほう　が　いい　です。Before

          the test, one should （had better）study.

          ようふく　は　きたない　から、せんたく　した　ほう　が

　　いい　です。The clothes are dirty, so I should do laundry.

　　下の日本語は英語で何ですか。What should the following

          people do?

          友達　は　朝ごはん　を　食べた　ほう　が　いい　です。

 

　　妹さん　は　宿題　を　した　ほう　が　いい　です。

 

　　うちの　兄　は　手紙を　書いた　ほう　が　いい　です。
