しつもん　に　こたえて　下さい。友達のつあえて（Convey）下さい。

      たとえば：　

      何　が　赤い　です　か。　りんが　は　赤いです。

何　が　さむい　です　か。

何　が　あたたかい　です　か。

何　が　つめたい　です　か。

何　が　あつい　です　か。

何　が　すずしい　です　か。

 

A. Want to do things –　Verb-stem ＋　たい　です.よ

　　[The stem is what is left when you take off the ます from a verb in the ます form.]    This pattern is used when the subject/topic is “you” or “ I .”    For other people, the form is somewhat different.

Examples:

 今年（ことし）私　は　お金の　ゆめ　が　見たい　です。I want to dream of money this year.

学生　は　「ダイヤモンド　の　ゆびわ　が　したい」と言いました。The student said “I want to wear a diamond ring.”

レストラン　で　食べたい　です。Do you want to eat at a restaurant？

What do you want to do this year？　かんがえて、友達におしえて（Tell）下さい。それから、書いて下さい。

Note:

In want-to-do patterns, the direct object marker   is replaced by    .  Why?  Only the 日本語の神様（かみさま）gods of Japanese know for sure.

たとえば

英語を見ます　　( I ) watch (the) movie(s).

映画が見たい　です。( I ) want to watch (the) movie(s).

 

 

B. Doesn’t want to do, did want to do, didn’t want to do --   conjugate theい ending of たい as if it were an い  adjective.

たとえば：

私はうたいますが、うたいたく　ありません。

I sing but I don’t want to sing.

先週　勉強　したかった　です。Last week I wanted to study.

きのう　さむかった　から、高校　に　あるきたく　ありませんでした。Yesterday was cold, so I didn’t want to walk to school.

He has translated a number of Japanese films and several short works of Japanese fiction. Kyoto, where he lived as a student, is his favorite city in the world. He is the author of Sharing a House with the Never-Ending Man: 15 Years at Studio Ghibli.
