です。

 

牛（うし）：　

そうですか。ぼく　は　せき　が　

出ますが、びょういん　に　行きたくな

い　です。

 

鳥（とり）：　

ざんえん　ですね。私には、ねつ　が

ある　と思います。びょういん　で、

ねつ　が　はかりたい　です。じゃ、犬

さん、いっしょ　に　びょういん　に

行きましょう。牛さん、休んで　

下さい、ね。

 

牛（うし）：　

ええ、うち　に　帰って、休みたいで

す。その上に、くすり　が　飲みたい　

です。

B. 　Third-person want-to-do　You can’t use　たい when  talking about what other people want to do (unless it’s a direct quote)。

Verb-stem ＋　たがる・たがります。

たとえば：

私は食べたいです。友達は食べたがっています。　

I want to eat.  The friend wants/is wanting to eat.

さんぽしたいですか。先生はさんぽしたがっています。Do you want to take a walk？　The teacher wants/is wanting to take a walk.
