Happy
Thanksgiving
In Japan, it’s Labor Thanksgiving Day or Thanks-to-Labor Day
kinroo kansha no hi
Also known as- niiname no matsuri 新嘗祭 official Harvest Festival
In Japan, Labor
Thanksgiving Day is about being thankful for workers who do their
job and do it well. Sometimes you literally thank those people
— school kids sometimes make thank you cards and gifts for municipal workers
like police, firefighters, and hospital workers.
For
those Japanese who will celebrate Kinrokansha, the holiday means a relaxing meal of noribachi (fish), rice, and tea after a
family visit to a park or amusement center.
