Nakama Chapter 12

びょうき　に　なって、へや　に　行って　寝ました。

先生は　かぜ　を　ひいて、くすり　を　飲みました。

姉　は　アレルギー　が　ある　から　はな　が　つまる。

母　は　つかれて　います　が　うち　に　帰れません。ざんねん　です　ね。

バス　の　じこ（Accident）　が　あった　から    ひどい　けが　を　した　子供　は　にゅういん　しました。

おもい　びょうき　じゃ　ない　けど　ねつ　を　はかって　下さい。

Nakama Chapter 12 ----  Potential for Group 2 Verbs

It’s easy!  Just add れる before the ます。

Examples:

シャワー　を　あびます。（あびる）　シャワー　が　あびられます。（あびられる）

(Someone) takes a shower. 　(Someone) is able to take a shower.

ドア　を　あけます。（あける）　ドア　が　あけられます。（あけられる）

(Someone) opens the door.　(Someone) can open the door.

Transform the Group 2 Verbs below by changing them to the potential form.

Note:

見ます    is irregular in the potential form――見えます（見える）

Group 1 聞きます  is irregular in the potential form ――聞こえます（聞こえる）


 Emily-san also made a handout on the potential forms of verbs and presented it.  She had a handout with the following sentences to translate:

I am able to read magazines.　私　は　ざっし　が　読めます。

I can go out tonight.　こんや　私　は　出かけられます。

I am able to write kanji.　私は漢字が書けます。
