Students argue about dialogue assignment. Then they are given time to work on their assignments. The following three pairs took time to consult the teacher, read their rough drafts, and ask questions:

Clarification of tenses on the board:
食べて います continuative/progressive "am/is/are eating"
食べます habitual present/future "eats," "will eat"
食べました simple past (it's all over) "ate"
