[change the “i” syllable to an “u” syllable in the same hiragana row]

Group 2 – ru verbs – so-called “weak verbs” – take off masu, put on ru

Group 3 – irregular verbs – just have to memorize

来ます                {きます}      来る{くる}
 
See page 210 in Nakama -- adding relational particle no to the dictionary form in order to create a verbal noun like an infinitive or a gerund.
何 を する の が すき です か。What do you like to do?
私 は ねる の が すき です。I like sleeping.
In class, students write five statements about activities they like.
 
Tomorrow, students will ask three other students the above question and will report back to the class on the answers.
