Word Search in katakana -- Oct. 21

October 21, 2022    Friday

Room 4163, Third period

1.    Please hand out the green “word search in hiragana” sheet.  Have students complete it and hand it in.  The way the creators of the word search did it was by writing the target words in their grid, first, and then filling in other hiragana symbols around it.

2.   Please han dout the poem about the seasons – They are to read it and write the English translation on a separate piece of paper.  There is a glossary of unfamiliar terms at the bottom of the page, but they may also use the textbook or their Chromebooks (dictionary Jisho.com) for unfamiliar vocabulary.

3.   If there is still more time, please pass out the gridded paper and tell them to create their own word search, but this time in katakana.

Please tell the students the following, “The way the creators of the word search did it was by writing the target words in their grid, first, and then filling in other symbols around it.  Pick 6 katakana words and write them in the squares.  Also, write the words at the bottom of the page as the key.  Then fill in the rest of the squares with random katakana characters.”

Thank you J❤️
