Word processing in Japanese through Word 2010

Go to the “Start” button
Go to “Control Panel”
Go to “Clock, Language, and Region”
Go to “Region and Language”
Go to “Keyboards and Languages”
Go to “Change Keyboards”
Go to “Add” and add Japanese, keyboard, IME
Click on OK
“EN” icon will appear in lower right hand corner of screen
Click on it and click on “Show Language Bar”
Language bar will then show on upper right corner of screen
Click on Japanese
Then choose “Input Mode,” and you should choose “hiragana” when you want to type in Japanese. 
Leave a space between Japanese words and before and after relational particles.
Click enter, if you want the hiragana word as-is.

If you want a kanji to appear, click the space bar and choose the correct kanji from among the kanji offered.
