Mandatory choral speaking: verb conjugations and counting with various counters --
te forms, days of month, people, hundreds, small four-footed animals

On the whiteboard:
neutral polite plain form, affirmative te form
affirmative ("dictionary form") (a sort of participle)
言います(says) 言う 言って

すいます(breathes, inhales) すう すって
The class discussed these grammar transformations and tried to develop a rule describing them.
"First, drop the ます. The い syllable preceding the ます in the neutral polite affirmative form changes to う in the "dictionary form" and to って in the て form."
Students performed yesterday's short dialogue (using masu and te forms) in pairs.

Think about 感謝祭 の 日(かんしゃさい の ひ), coming up 来週 の 木曜日。
だれ と ばんごはん を 食べます か。Who will you have eat dinner with?
