Nakama Chapter 10　　How to Make（Adjectival） Dependent Clauses

Take the predicate of the sentence and put it in front of the noun, as if it were an adjective.  Use the plain form of the verb or the adjective.)

Examples:

A.  私　は　あの　学生　が　好き　だ。　I like that student over there.

好きな人　は　あの　学生　だ。The person I like is that student over there.

B.  父　は　めがね　を　かけて　いる。　Dad is wearing glasses.

めがね　を　かけて　いる　人　は　父　だ。The person who is wearing glasses is Dad

C.  母　は　せ　が　高い　です。Mom is tall.

せ　が　高い　女の人　は　母　です。The tall woman is Mom.

Now change the following sentences into sentences with dependent clauses.

私　は　なっとう（Fermented soybeans） が　大きらい　だ。　Write “The food I hate is nattou.“
