Writing for New Year ---- お正月(おしょうがつ)
In traditional Japanese culture, the first time you do something is
very important. Today is our first time
writing Japanese for the year 2017.
Write the following, very carefully and clearly and colorfully
and beautifully on a separate piece of paper and hand it in to the
teacher.
***************
Shinnen akemashite
omedetou gozaimasu.
The New Year
brightens and it is auspicious.
(Happy New Year.)
Heisei ni-juu kyuu
nen desu.
It is the 29th
year of Heisei.
Tori-doshi desu.
It is the Year of
the Rooster.
Kyonen
o-sewa ni narimashita. You cared for me
last year.
Kotoshi
mo yoroshiku onegai shimasu. This year, too, be good to me, I beg of
you.
Read the article about New Year celebrations in Japan, and write a 3 paragraph summary for homework. http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2017/01/05/national/new-year-new-prayer-hopefully-luck/#.WHRo-VUrLIX
