B. Wanting a thing/object –I or you（as distinct from wanting-to-do）

私　は　Thing　が　ほしい　です。（Grammatically speaking,　ほしい　is an adjective in a は・が　pattern sentence。）

たとえば：

私はうつくしい本がほしいですが、読みたくないです。

I want beautiful books, but I don’t want to read （them）。

新しくて赤い車がほしいですか。Do (you) want a new red car？

きのう、寒かったから、ぼくは　手ぶくろ（Gloves）が

ほしかったです。Yesterday it was cold, therefore I wanted gloves.

 

誕生日（たんじょうび）の時、何がほしいですか。友達におしえて（tell）下さい。

B.   Wanting an object – third person – Instead of  ほしい

たとえば；

子供（こども）はチョコレートがほしがって　います。  Children　want　chocolate.

ねずみ（Mouse,　rat）は　チーズ　が　ほしがって　います。The　mouse　wants　cheese.

Now, working with a friend, figure out what these other 動物（どうぶつ） want.
